A I Scribe

A I Transcription Scribe at Great Ayton Health Centre Enhancing your Healthcare

Great Ayton Health Centre is currently trialling the use of A I Sribes.  This helps us to provide high - quality care and making the best use of technology to improve your experience during consultations.  One of the tools we may use in some consultations is Accurx Scribe, a secure and advanced tool that assists our clinical staff during their consultations by documenting the conversation they have with their patients.

What is Accurx Scribe?

Accurx Scribe is a secure digial tool that helps clinicians write medical notes during or after a consultation.  It works by listening to the conversation between you and your clinician and creating a draft summary of the consultation.   Clinicians review and approve the notes captured by the A I Scribe before they are added to your patient record.

Benefits to Patients

  • Allows Clinicans to spend more time looking at and listening to you, rather than typing into a computer
  • Create clear and accurate consultation notes capturing everything that is being said by both staff and patients.
  • Streamlines and speeds up the note taking process  and any subsequent referrals or onward communication.

Is it safe and secure?

Yes.   Accurx Scribe:

  • Meets NHS requirements for A I Scribe technology
  • Uses secure systems designed for healthcare settings
  • Is registered with the UK medicines regulator (MHRA) as a Class 1 medical device through its underlying technology.

You information continues to be handled in line with NHS data protections and confidentiality standards.

Does the technology make decisions about my care ?

No.  Accurx Scribe does not make clinical decisions and does not influence diagnosis or treatment.  It simply helps create a written summary of the consultation for your clinician to review.

Do I have to agree with it ?

No.  Using Accurx Scribe is completely optional.  If you would prefer not to have it used during your appointment, simply let your clinician know.  Your care will not be affected in any way.

Calling all women experiencing perimenopause and menopause

We have been lucky enough to be selected to be involved with a pilot looking at women's health and in particular peri menopause and menopause.

Some of you may already have engaged with Harley Street at home through their website.   Please see our earlier post for the details.

This would normally only be accessible to patients privately and we at Great Ayton Health Centre have been selected as one of only 100 GP Surgeries in the Country to be involved in this pilot.

In addition to allowing our female patients being able to access the huge amount of information,   webinars/dietry advice/mental health support available through the website, we have been selected as one of only a few practices to be able to engage in a 10 week programme that focuses on improving women's health  through supporting their GUT health with probiotics (Symprove), Lipid lowering supplements like Benecol,  Wellness support with specific dietary and exercise support tackling issues like pelvic floor support and weight gain around the menopause.

I know that our femael population will be keen to participate in such a programme ,  which is investing in their longer term health and look forward to updating you in the near future as to when this will be launching

Recent outbreak of Invasive Meningococcal Disease

In light of the recent outbreak of Invasive meningococcal disease we are seeing an uptake in queries regarding this vaccine, please be aware of the following:

As there is currently no MenB vaccination programme for adults as part of the NHS Vaccination Schedule,  we are unfortunately unable to offer the vaccine to adults.

The MenB vaccine was introduced into the routine childhood immunisation schedule from 1st May 2015.

This means:

  • If you are a teenage or young adult born before 1st May 2015, you will not have received the MenB vaccine as part of the NHS schedule. If you wish to receive this you must seek and pay for privately,  we do not offer this at the practice
  • The MenB vaccine is now routinely offered to babies as part of the NHS childhood schedule at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 12 months (one year old)
  • Men A, C W & Y is offered routinely around 14 years of age as part of the School vaccination programme.    Individuals who have not received it at this stage remain eligible until their 25th Birthday.

If your child is eligible for the vaccine, they will automatically be invited as part of the routine schedule.

If you have any concerns about meningitis symptoms or believe someone may be unwell,  please seek urgent medical advice.
