I'm writing on behalf of Great Ayton H.C to update our patients and community as to the current situation at the practice .

A small number of our staff have received positive Covid-19 test results and this is having an impact on the services we can currently offer.  

 

We are confident that there has been no risk to patients. All of our staff wear full PPE during all patient contact and we operate a fully Covid-secure surgery. However, as a precautionary measure we have cancelled scheduled flu clinics to enable us to undergo a deep clean of the surgery before we invite patients back into the practice.  Any staff who are contacts of the positive staff members are also self-isolating as a precaution. 

 

We will reschedule these clinics as soon as possible. In the meantime you can still access health care by calling the practice and we will connect you with an appropriate clinician either at Great Ayton Health Centre or one of our neighbouring practices. We will publish details of the rescheduled flu clinics on our website once these have been arranged.

Facemasks are to be worn when entering the surgery - we do not provide these for  patients as these are reserved for medical staff

Better Access to GP Services - Are you aware that you can now book appointments on a Saturday . These are pre bookable only and not for emergency walk in's. Please ask at reception

As an alternative to ringing 111, you can now visit www.111.nhs.uk to determine which service or treatment is most suitable for you. Due to the latest advice regarding Coronavirus we won't bring any patient into the surgery for a face to face appointment until they had a telephone consultation. Our receptionists are here to help you. They deal with many enquires and their job is very demanding and at times stressful, so we would ask to you to please be patient

Training Practice

Great Ayton Health Centre is a training practice. This means hospital doctors wanting to enter general practice spend twelve months with us in order to gain the experience they need to become family doctors. They work closely with our GPs discussing complex cases when needed.
